INTRODUCTION
The RAF Scotland & Northern Ireland Golf Championships
are being hosted by RAF Leuchars and will be held at Scotcraig Golf Club,
Tayport, on 25 and 26 Aug 08.
They are open to all Service personnel and MOD employed civilians at RAF
Units throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland. The maximum handicap allowance
will be 18, entries are limited to twelve for each station, therefore
the KGS committee will chose the teams from those interested. Personnel
will be responsible for organising their own accommodation.
The Team Competition will consist of 2 medal rounds that will both count
towards the S & NI Champs and the Regional Inter-Station Qualifier.
The Individual Scratch Competition will be decided over 3 rounds. The
Handicap Champion will be decided from the 2 medal rounds alone. To supplement
these competitions there will also be an individual Stableford on the
final day for those unfortunate competitors who fail to make the cut.
The cost of the event is £80, this includes bacon roll/coffee both
mornings, soup and sandwiches on the first day, High Tea on the final
day and a practice round on 24 Aug 08.
The format for S & NI is as follows:-
S & NI Champs - best 4 from 6 Gross and Handicap
Inter-station Qualifier - best 5 from 6 Gross scores
Individual Scratch - 2 rounds on the first day
1 round on the final day for the top 21 players
Individual Stableford - Full handicap for non qualifiers
Cost per player is £80 this includes soup and sandwiches on the
first day and a two course meal on the final day.
Players are required to wear jacket and tie for the presentation on the
final evening.
