ELIGIBILITY

The STC Golf Championships are open to all officers and other ranks on the posted strength of STC units, including personnel of Foreign and Commonwealth Forces. Civilians are ineligible. RAF personnel from JHC stns have been invited to participate and are eligible for all prizes. STC units that do not reside on STC stns (in the case of JFH, P&SS units, 22 and 202 Sqns) are eligible to play in the competitions but only STC personnel are permitted to play, no host stn players allowed. Also in the case of P&SS units, 22 and 202 Sqns, only one team is allowed from each organisation. If more than one team is entered from each stn/unit then ballot-out rules will apply. In addition, all players are required to have an official handicap from either a recognised golf club or golf society, and must provide proof on registration.

Players will not be allowed to compete without proof of appropriate insurance. RAFGA insurance is acceptable and registration forms will be available on the day.

RULES

All play will be in accordance with the R & A Rules of Golf. Decisions pertaining to the application of rules will be made by the Championship Committee.

DRESS

All the courses require smart casual dress; no denim clothing or collarless shirts are to be worn on the courses or in Clubhouses. Shorts are acceptable, but only if tailored. Competitors should note that long (knee length) or short, predominantly white socks must be worn when wearing shorts.

All competitors are encouraged to wear jacket and tie for the formal dinner and presentations on the final day of each of the Championships. Competitors at Lincoln (Torksey) must wear a jacket and tie after 4pm in the clubhouse.

ENTRIES AND COSTS

Entries.
Stn Officers IC Golf are requested to submit entries on the entry forms at Annexes A C. The closing date for receipt of entries is 2 Apr for the `C' Championships, 30 Apr for the `B' Championships and 21 May for the `A' Championships. Entries received after these dates will not normally be accepted. If these deadlines are not met then other stns will be offered the opportunity to field additional teams. Please note that failure to replace a player who is withdrawn will result in the elimination of the team from the Inter Stn competition.

Costs.
The contribution required for each player is as follows:

`A' Division Championships Belton Woods £90.

`B' Division Championships Lincoln (Torksey) GC £70.

`C' Division Championships Sleaford GC £40.

The cost for competitions includes green fees, prizes, morning coffee, light lunch and evening meal for each day of competition. Competitors in the `B' Championships will receive a main lunch meal on the 2nd day, in lieu of the light lunch and main evening meal. Stn reps are advised that entries will not normally be accepted without the entry fee. In exceptional circumstances, the entry fee may be accepted after the closing date but before the competition date; players will not be allowed to play if the entry fee has not been paid by the competition date. Entry fees will only be reimbursed in exceptional circumstances. Once details have been passed to the golf club, normally one week prior to the start of each event, no refunds can be made as costs will have been settled by the STC Golf Committee.
