Friendly Matches 2004 The KGS won this years annual challenge match against Nairn GC. In a remarkable comeback the KGS won the home leg 5.5 to 0.5 and won back the Shield. Never mind Nairn, see you next year.

The KGS will be playing 2 friendly matches against Nairn GC to decide the Winners of the Annual Challenge Shield. The competition is a 4 ball better ball, yellow tees, 3/4 difference in handicap. The Nairn team ably led by the indomitable Mr Abbott shocked the golfing world by trouncing the KGS 6 - 0 in the home leg last year and eventually ran out 10 - 2 winners. Hopefully the KGS will be able to make more of a game of it. The 1st match took place on a Friday 24th September at Nairn GC. On a breezy day the KGS made more of a game of it and won a couple of matches on the glorious Nairn links. Due to work commitments the KGS were unable to field a full team but were still able to squeeze passed Nairn in two games. The return match will take place at Forres GC on the 1st October. All being well the KGS might be able to field a full team. Wanted 12 keen golf to win the Annual Challenge Shield back from Nairn GC. These matches are open to all KGS members. The Nairn team ably led by the indomitable Mr Abbott shocked the golfing world by trouncing the KGS 6 - 0. The KGS home leg will be played at Forres GC during August. A 6 - 0 for the KGS will allow the KGS to retain the trophy. (and a miracle has happened) The return match will took place on Friday 19th September at Forres GC. The Nairn team continue there thrashing of the KGS and took the match 4-2. Nairn win the shield for 2003 taking the competition 10 - 2. Better luck next year for the KGS. The course was in immaculate condition with the 'gentle' breeze adding to a challenging day. Nairn hosted the KGS wonderfully well and the KGS team enjoyed a good day, apart from the result. Some of the matches we tight affairs with some matches not being decided until the back nine.. The Nairn team showed the KGS how to play golf on their magnificent course in a breeze.   Friendly Matches 2002 The KGS won the Annual Challenge shield 2002. The KGS is playing 2 friendly matches against Nairn GC. The combined results will decide the Annual Challenge Shield between the two teams. 28th August KGS v Nairn Seniors at Nairn GC. £25 per player 11th September KGS v Nairn Seniors at Forres GC. £10 per player These matches are open to all KGS members. The course was in immaculate condition with the 'gentle' breeze adding to a challenging day. Nairn hosted the KGS wonderfully well and the KGS team enjoyed a good day. Most of the matches we tight affairs with most matches going down to the last hole. The KGS managed to secure a lead in the match, 4 1/2 to 1 1/2, leaving both team's a little to do in the 2nd leg to ensure victory.
