No 2 GROUP GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007
2. The cost of the day will be £49 per player and will include coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 36 holes of golf, lunch and evening meal and prizes. Stations may enter 2 teams and / or individual entries. There may be a ballot if over subscribed. Please return confirmation of entry and cheque for £196.00 per team (4 players) made payable to Service Funds RAF Brize Norton by no later than 29 Jun 2007. 3. All previous trophy winners are request to ensure that the respective trophies are returned on the day. 4. For those that have not played the course before, it is an excellent venue and a good test of golf. A scorecard and some course information are enclosed. 5. FORMAT Play will consist of 36 hole medal play for the following : a. Individual Scratch. Decided on best Gross score. b. Individual Handicap. Decided on best nett score. c. Inter Stn Scratch. Decided on the best 3, 36 hole gross scores . d. Inter Stn Handicap. Decided on the best 3, 36 hole nett scores . In individual competitions, in the event of any ties the result will be decided on countback system, last 18, 9, 6, 3, 2 & 1 holes. In team competitions, in the event of a tie the result will be decided on the 4th team members score. If the result is still tied then countback on the 4th members card will be used. In awarding prizes and trophies the rule of one prize per individual and 1 prize per team will apply. ELIGIBILITY Entry for the championships is limited to golfers with current handicaps of 18 or less who are members of the RAF, Exchange Officers or personnel of other Services or civilians held on the RAF LUE serving at 2Gp Units. Golfers with a greater handicap of 18 may play but to a maximum of 18 strokes handicap for the championships. Ladies complying with the above criteria are entitled to enter the 2 Gp Golf Championships. However, they will be required to play from the Mens Competition tees and for handicap purposes will be awarded an additional handicap allowance equal to the difference between the course Mens and Ladies Standard Scratch Score. INSURANCE All players must have appropriate Personal Liability insurance and will not be allowed to participate if they do not. All OICs should ensure that their selected players have insurance before the event.
All play will be in accordance with the R & A Rules of Golf. Decisions pertaining to the application of rules will be made by the Championship Committee. DRESS Smart casual dress is required on the course. No denim clothing or collarless shirts are to be worn and shorts must be tailored and worn with white sports socks. ENTRIES Entry forms at Annex B should be submitted before the closing date of 29 Jun 07. TRAVEL Reclaim of travel expenses is permissible under JSP 752 Ch 4 Sect 8.
